David Luiz Moreira Marinho has written his own brilliant football story. He began his career at SL Benfica in Portugal, where his leadership and all-around contributions quickly made him a fan favourite. His performances earned him a move to Chelsea FC in England, where he won the UEFA Champions League in 2012 and the UEFA Europa League in both 2013 and 2019. In between, he enjoyed great success with Paris Saint-Germain, leading the French side to domestic dominance with two Ligue 1 championships and multiple cup titles. He returned to the Premier League with Arsenal FC, adding an FA Cup to his collection, before heading back to Brazil with Flamengo, where he won the Copa Libertadores in 2022.

On the international stage, David Luiz wore the Brazilian national jersey 57 times, featuring prominently in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where Brazil reached the semi-finals, and lifting the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2013. He was known for his passion, emotion, and leadership — qualities that made him a symbol of the Seleção during his time.

Over the course of his career, David Luiz has made over 700 professional appearances and scored more than 70 goals — an incredible record for a central defender. He has won major trophies in England, France, Portugal, and South America, and is one of the few footballers in history to have excelled at the highest level across multiple continents.
